Lucerne is one of the cantons in Switzerland and it’s situated in the center of Switzerland, and has a population of about 350,600 people. It lies on the foot of the Swiss Alps and the highest elevation of the canton is the Brienzer Rothorn at 2,350m.

Lucerne joined the Swiss confederation in 1332. Most of the land in Lucerne was acquired through treaties or armed occupation. Agriculture is the main source of income in the area, since most parts of the canton are productive, apart from agriculture industries are also developing.
