The Botanical Gardens

The gardens are in the heart of the city, the gardens are 2 hectares in size and around 6000 plant species are grown outdoors and in seven green houses.

Plants from Asia and North America are also found in the gardens. Visitors get to learn about the flora in Swiss and they also get to see what plants are found in the Swiss mountains. There are show houses that focus on tropical and subtropical vegetation.

The Palm House is home to a selection of agricultural plants usually cultivated in humid tropical, while the Fern House contains plants from tropical mountain forests such as tree and palm ferns. The third show house is dedicated to the vegetation found in the warm and dry climate of semi-deserts.
